And as far as the snare i've moved it up pretty far away before and it would still clip even at pretty much zero on the gain, but I've replaced it with an SM57 which i imagine will bode much better results. And i'm not completely new to engineering i have taken a good amount of classes on it i've just been using my interface for the past years only and i want to get some more mixer experience all i have is what i learned in class and sometimes a class environment bodes differently than real life.
